Caracas, 25 de julio de 2016.- Durante el homenaje a Jorge Rodríguez “Padre”, en sala Ríos Reyna del Teatro Teresa Carreño, se dieron lugar a varios relatos de distintos combatientes de la Revolución, de esta manera Julio Escalona fue uno de los que encabezó el homenaje, quien mediante su discurso conmemoró al histórico socialista Jorge Rodríguez.
Escalona, recordando a su gran amigo destacó que sus palabras son como un compromiso con la historia y la verdad, “el muerto hubiese preferido ser yo, porque Jorge tenía una misión, pero ahora todos ustedes y yo la estamos cumpliendo”, recalcó.
“Jorge Rodríguez era un hombre admirable, recuerdo cuando los ex guerrilleros del – Gan de la muerte- nos traicionaron, y Jorge los enfrentó, no le mostró jamás temor, los retó cara a cara más de una vez pero siempre mostrando el humanismo que lo acompañó siempre”, relató Escalona desde su alegato.
De la misma manera, comentó que su batalla era la lucha entre la humanidad, contra la inhumanidad, abriendo caminos de amor para el pueblo obrero y humilde desde la justa verdad. “Este homenaje no es simplemente levantar la bandera, sino acompañar la lucha de la fe socialista”.
Seguidamente indicó que sus ideales quedaron en presente en todas y todos. “Él se quedó en los sueños y en la conciencia de muchos, y sus sueños quedaron en nosotros”, finalizó.

Mi admiracion por ese gran luchador Jorge Rodriguez, en su lucha contra la inhumanidad, abriendo caminos de amor para el pueblo obrero y humilde desde la justa verdad.
