Como parte de las mejoras socio-laborales para el personal de la Policía de Caracas, en la sede del organismo ubicada en la Cota 905 de El Paraíso, la Alcaldía de Caracas edifica un preescolar Simoncito. El fin es apoyar a mujeres y hombres que laboran para la institución durante la fase maternal y preescolar de sus hijos.
El alcalde de Caracas, Jorge Rodríguez, aprobó una inversión social de 7 millones de bolívares para el levantamiento de la estructura que se cimenta en los alrededores de la Brigada Canina.
El Simoncito contará con cuatro módulos de aulas, servicios básicos y un parque infantil con el propósito de atender a cerca de 200 niños.
De acuerdo con informes técnicos del programa de Infraestructura de la Alcaldía, los trabajos se iniciaron el 30 de noviembre y desde entonces se ha logrado un avance de 80% de las obras. El cerramiento y el techo del Simoncito fueron hechos con paneles producidos por la empresa Tecnohábitat, recientemente inaugurada por el alcalde y su capital de trabajo es del municipio.

Por mucho tiempo Ginet Mejías, oficial agregada a la Policía de Caracas, debió llevar los cuidados de su bebé de forma compartida.
“Durante los primeros meses de nacido pude estar al lado de mi bebé, pero luego me tocó incorporarme a las labores y buscar ayuda natal en maternales de la ciudad”, contó la funcionaria.
Para Mejías fueron días duros en los que su criatura enfermaba constantemente, pero agradece que “el alcalde Rodríguez haya tomado en cuenta el desarrollo de los más pequeños”, expresó.
El caso de Johana Pinto es similar, quien con su nené de 10 meses, recurrió a la apoyo familiar.
“Mi madre me ha ayudado desde el inicio del proceso. No todas contamos con esa ayuda tan importante para el desarrollo integral de nuestros hijos”, aseguró.
Al pequeño de Johana anteriormente lo cuidaba su padre, por lo que la analista aseguró que “ahora podré traerme a mi hijo conmigo al trabajo y dejarlo en el Simoncito con la seguridad de que recibe la mejor atención y alimentación”, celebró.
Policaracas es el segundo organismo en el país de este tipo en el que sus funcionarios y funcionarias reciben el salrio más alto, luego de la Polícia Nacional Bolivariana, así como otros beneficios que impactan en las mejoras de ellos y sus familiares.
Todos las mejoras han sido impulsadas por la política del alcalde de Caracas, Jorge Rodríguez.
