Caracas, 02 de junio de 2009.- La Alcaldía de Caracas, a través de la Superintendencia Municipal de Administración Tributaria (SUMAT), cerró y multó temporalmente, 59 establecimientos que vendían bebidas alcohólicas sin la Licencia reglamentaria o con la misma vencida.
La Superintendente Municipal de Administración Tributaria, Lic. Leyda Vispo señaló que atendiendo a las políticas dirigidas por el Alcalde, Jorge Rodríguez, «hemos venido haciendo más exhaustivos los operativos de fiscalización y control en cada una de las 22 parroquias que integran el Municipio Bolivariano Libertador».
Aseveró que en la medida en que se controle la venta de licor disminuye el grado de violencia que genera su consumo, aumentando así la seguridad en la ciudad.
La sanción se aplicó a varios establecimientos que se encontraban permitiendo el consumo de licor dentro de sus respectivos locales, no estando autorizados para eso, violando así, el articulo 56 literal B de la normativa legal vigente.
Las acciones de fiscalización se desarrollaron en las parroquias Sucre, El Junquito, Candelaria, San Juan, El Paraíso, Altagracia, El Valle Santa Teresa, Santa Rosalía, El Recreo, San Pedro, La Vega, San Bernardino, San Agustín, Catedral y Caricuao, en coordinación con el Plan Caracas Segura que desarrolla el Ministerio del Poder Popular para las Relaciones Interiores y Justicia
