Los candidatos por el Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) para la Alcaldía Metropolitana de Caracas, Aristóbulo Istúriz, y para el municipio Libertador, Jorge Rodríguez, hicieron un recorrido por el sector de La Pedrera, en Antímano, que culminó en el casco histórico de la parroquia caraqueña.
Durante el recorrido, que partió desde el Sexto Plan del sector de La Pedrera, Rodríguez e Istúriz, constataron a través de las explicaciones de los líderes de las comunidades que conseguían a su paso, las deficiencias que posee este sector, por lo cual el candidato a la Alcaldía Libertador enfatizó que estos problemas sólo tendrán solución en la medida en que pueblo organizado y Gobierno trabajen en comunión.
Rodríguez señaló: «Caracas no se puede gobernar desde la Plaza Bolívar, la construcción de la Caracas socialista sólo será posible si nos instalamos con el poder en todas y cada una de las 22 parroquias que hacen vida en esta ciudad, por lo cual tenemos que reforzar el poder popular para que sean ellos los que gobiernen».
De igual manera el candidato al municipio Libertador adelantó que la comunidad de Antímano puede ser una de las primeras parroquias para el impulso de la Misión 13 de Abril, que como fundamento tiene el fortalecimiento del poder popular para así transferirle poder de gestión a la comunidad.
Por su parte el candidato Istúriz sentenció que el problema fundamental de ésta y la mayor parte de las parroquias capitalinas están en la desorganización del pueblo, por lo cual su gestión irá dirigida, al igual que la de Rodríguez, a fortalecer el poder popular, y afirmó que por más capaz que sea un mandatario no está en condiciones de conocer todos y cada uno de los problemas de las comunidades.
En este sentido indicó: «El problema fundamental está en la desorganización del poder popular, por lo cual debemos tener como principal obra de Gobierno transferirle el poder al pueblo para que sea la gente la que soluciones los problemas que lo aquejan, porque sólo el pueblo salva la pueblo».
Durante el recorrido los candidatos estuvieron acompañados por la dirigente del partido Unidad Popular Venezolana (UPV), Lina Ron, quien manifestó su completo apoyo para los candidatos psuvistas para la capital y sentenció que sólo a través de la unidad se alcanzará la victoria para la revolución.
